Nurturing the Creative Spirit in Every Child

Empowering Expression, Inspiring Creativity, Transforming Futures in India

At ANEW, we believe every child deserves to explore their creative potential and express themselves. We provide children with the resources and encouragement they need to unlock their imaginations, nurture their curiosity, and build confidence in their abilities.

Creativity is not just about art—it’s about holistic well-being, community care, and building a spirit of compassion and innovation that transforms lives across India.

Our Projects In India

We provide art supplies and organize workshops where children can explore their worlds and express their thoughts and emotions through words and pictures. These activities enhance their creative abilities and provide a platform to communicate and connect with others, fostering emotional well-being and self-expression.

Art becomes a therapeutic outlet for children who have experienced trauma, poverty, or displacement—helping them process emotions and build resilience.

We proudly support the Dharavi Art Room, a transformative program that provides children in Mumbai’s Dharavi community with access to space, materials, and guidance to explore and enhance their community through creative expression.

In 2023, ANEW funded the construction of a new playground at Sphoorti Foundation, Hyderabad, to encourage and provide opportunities for creativity, physical activity, and social interactions between school children.

Play is essential for holistic development—it fosters teamwork, problem-solving, physical health, and joy. This playground has become a cherished space where children can be children, building friendships and memories.

At Sphoorti Children’s Home, Hyderabad, ANEW conducted film-making workshops where children learned storytelling, cinematography, and video production. The films created by these children have received international recognition, showcasing their talent and creativity on global platforms.

These workshops not only teach technical skills but also empower children to tell their own stories, build confidence, and develop critical thinking abilities.

In 2019, ANEW supported an orphanage of 40 children in Araku, a tribal region of Andhra Pradesh. We donated a solar panel to ensure sustainable energy access, providing electricity for lighting, education, and daily activities.

This initiative demonstrated our commitment to holistic care—addressing not just immediate needs but long-term sustainability and environmental responsibility in tribal communities.

In 2015, ANEW conducted a medical workshop in Boduppal, Telangana, providing essential health services to the local community. This initiative reflected our belief that physical health and spiritual well-being are interconnected—healthy bodies support creative, thriving spirits.

In 2017, ANEW adopted an old age home in Hyderabad temporarily for one year during an emergency transition, supporting their needs until they settled into a new location. This act of compassion demonstrated the spirit of Mettā—extending loving-kindness not just to children but to all vulnerable members of society.

Caring for elders teaches children the values of respect, compassion, and community responsibility.

Our Future Projects: Empowering Women Through Creativity

Over the next two years, JJMMF is dedicated to empowering women and fostering creativity through practical skill-building initiatives in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana:

Skill Development Workshops for Women

Our primary focus is providing educational scholarships to girl children of various age groups to ensure they complete their schooling and pursue higher education across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. We are committed to breaking the cycle of poverty through education.

Sewing machine operation and garment creation
Bakery classes for home-based baking businesses
Bangle-making and traditional craft skills

These initiatives are designed to equip women from underserved communities in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana with the tools and knowledge needed to launch their own businesses and improve their families' livelihoods.

Supporting Women Entrepreneurs - SHG Exhibition Space

JJMMF will establish a dedicated space for Self-Help Group (SHG) women in Telangana to exhibit and sell their handmade products. This platform will:

Amplify their reach to customers and markets
Boost business growth and income generation
Foster pride in their craftsmanship and cultural heritage
Create sustainable livelihoods for marginalized women

Fundraising Events

We are excited to announce upcoming fundraising initiatives: Stand-Up Comedy Show A fund-raising event featuring renowned artists will be organized to raise awareness and funds for our programs. Details will be announced soon.

    Menstrual Health and Hygiene

Menstrual health and hygiene are critical issues affecting young girls and women in India.

Our Project Dignity addresses these issues by educating girls on menstrual health, providing sanitary products, and advocating for better hygiene practices. Through workshops, hygiene fairs, and access to sanitary pads, we help girls manage their menstruation confidently and safely, both at home and at school.

In the Paderu tribal region of Andhra Pradesh, ANEW worked with the Tribal Development Authority to establish a women-run menstrual pad production facility that produces clean, affordable pads and provides independent income for more than two dozen tribal women.

In tribal North America, we provide menstrual health supplies to schools, clinics, and women’s shelters in the Standing Rock Sioux reservation in North and South Dakota.
